green boot socks

BEFORE:

AFTER:

I'm still not totally sure what I think of the whole legwarmer deal though. Done appropriately I think it's cool, if you wear boots over them. By themselves I think they look a little ridiculous. ;)

Mirror pictures. Again.

 Danny said something funny.

I can't take it anymore! :-p

Taking a picture of my hand taking the picture. aha.

I like the finished product. =) My hands are cold a lot in the winter, (and by a lot; pretty much all the time) so these will be really nice.

lost inspiration

I need to keep a little notebook with me so I can scribble down the words that explain my thoughts when I think of them. Otherwise all those rainy-day or melody or breeze or people inspired conclusions will be lost until next time, and that might be a while.

plans. vote!

Okay, something a little different. HERE are a bunch of things that I am planning/hoping to remake, but haven't gotten around to yet.

If you want, comment on what you think I should do next. :-D

^I'm actually not sure if I want to remake this. I like it the way it is, except... the pleats. But I think I could get over them.

I tried to basket weave a tshirt. If I had the right tshirt to begin with, I think it might have turned out better. But this one just ended up looking unfinished at the end. I have a plan for what to make out if it.

Sleeveless floral dress. I'm not keen on the length. And I've only worn it once in the past 3 years or so that I've had it. But I'm not sure what to make from it; it has two layers, and they're both sort of slippery. Maybe a scarf? bag? Remade into a long skirt? I'm not sure.

Too short. And too short sleeved for a sweater. Tentative plan here.

I just had to throw in this picture of my octopus nails that my friend Eliz did.

Pink stripes. Tentative plan. Too short, sorta hard to layer. And a bit unflattering at the waist.

I've worn this once. The neck is a bit too high to wear underneath stuff (I know that sounds weird, but it ends up looking kinda tacky.) And it's too tight to wear by itself, and something underneath doesn't help that. Not sure what to do with it.

I don't mind this skirt. I'm just not sure I'd wear it very often. Still thinking about it, like the top one. I don't wear high waisted skirts a lot... because it seems to require tucking in your shirt. (usually?) and I have never liked doing that.

But it's kind of a cool skirt.

Suede material skirt. Unflattering fit...

But it has a button and I think that's why I picked it up off the Free Table.

Sooo... Any ideas, people? :-D Suggestions? Tips? ;)

p.s. one thing I learned through this is that dark purple goes with more than I thought it did. ;)

 AFTER:

I wondered what I was going to do to make myself like [the sweater in the picture below] more, and the obvious answer was; the turtleneck had to go. I really don't like turtlenecks much. If I want my neck covered all the way I'll wear a scarf. ;)

So I took out the neck. With my favorite tool; the scissors. I thought about taking in the sides too, since this sweater was a bit too large, but I decided not to. Sweaters are meant to be cozy and comfortable. :-D Even if they're not necessarily super flattering.

BEFORE

So here's this rather unflattering mock-turtleneck sweater.  And my adorable nephew.
I Can. Not. get the picture to rotate. Anyone else had this problem? Aghh well.

spiderweb scarf

 Step 1:
This is a long tank I used to wear under everything. All the time. But it started getting holes in it, so I decided it was time for it to go.
I cut it into strips and tied them together like a web, sort of.

Aaaand, now it's a scarf! Kinda sorta. I kinda like how it turned out. :)

Sorry for the awful coloring in the pictures. :-P

leftover stripes

BEFORE: Two uneven scraps of fabric from my earlier tshirt makeover.

AFTER: Striped headband! and a funny face. and overexposed pictures.

It was a little hard-ish to do since the second piece was so uneven-- I couldn't just cut straight across and sew them together. But I figured out how to do it, even though I can't really explain it here. :-p
